Privacy Policy

GBP Agent Extraordinaire (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension designed to help users audit and analyse Google Business Profiles (GBPs) by extracting publicly available business information. This policy explains what information the Extension collects and does not collect, how it is used, and how it is handled.

What information the Extension collects

• Publicly available business information: The Extension extracts publicly available data from Google Business Profiles, such as business name, address, phone number, website, business hours, attributes, photo count, review count, average rating and category information. This information is displayed in the audit panel and can be exported at your request.
• User actions and audit history: To make your experience smoother, the Extension stores a local history of your recent audits in your browser. This includes the business identifiers (CID, Place ID, GPS coordinates) and the timestamps of audits to help you revisit previously analysed businesses. The history is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted.

What information the Extension does NOT collect

• No personal or sensitive user data: The Extension does not collect, store or transmit any personal or sensitive user data such as your name, email address, account credentials, authentication tokens, browsing history, financial or health information. It only processes publicly available business information from GBPs while you browse.
• No cookies or trackers: The Extension does not use cookies, persistent identifiers or analytics trackers to monitor your activity. Your usage remains private and local to your browser.
• No web browsing activity beyond the extension’s purpose: The Extension does not monitor or collect your general browsing activity. It only interacts with GBP pages to extract business information directly relevant to the extension’s functions.

How we use your information

The information extracted by the Extension is used solely to display, analyse and export Google Business Profile data within the extension interface. The data is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to any external server or shared with third parties. When you export data as CSV or JSON, the exported file remains on your device.

Data retention and export

Your audit history is stored locally in your browser to provide quick access to previously analysed businesses. You can clear this local data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser data. Any exported files are saved to your computer and are not retained by the Extension.

User consent

The Extension only processes data when you actively initiate an audit by clicking the audit button or using the extension popup. By using the Extension, you acknowledge and consent to the extraction of publicly available business information. If we introduce any new data collection features in future updates, we will provide an in-product disclosure and obtain your affirmative consent before collecting any additional data.

Secure handling and transmission

The Extension communicates only with Google domains over secure HTTPS connections. It does not transmit personal data, and it does not encode sensitive information in request headers or URLs. Because all processing occurs locally, there is no remote server storing your data.

No cryptocurrency mining or prohibited content

The Extension does not mine cryptocurrency, access paid or restricted content, display ads, or include affiliate links. It does not provide or facilitate any functionality that violates the Chrome Web Store policies regarding prohibited content.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting the information processed by the Extension.
